New Section - Technique of the Month!

Jeet Kune Do Federation(JKDF) was founded and is headed by Shihan Mitch Maynard with over 40 years experience in martial arts. JKDF offers a complete and effective training in Self Defense, Jeet Kune Do, Bushido Kempo, Aiki-Jitsu, Weapons and Anti-Terrorism.  GrandMaster/Shihan/Sifu/Guru Maynard is a 8th Degree Black Sash in Jeet Kune Do, 5th Dan in Bushido Kempo, a Texas Certified Police Instructor (T.C.L.E.O.S.E. Certified), 4th Dan Aiki-Jitsu, and also very proficient with Arnis/Kali under the previous training and tutelage of the late Grandmaster Remy Amador Presas.

Shihan Mitch Maynard is of direct lineage to Bruce Lee's philosophy and art of Jeet Kune Do.  This has been passed down to Sifu Mitch Maynard over many years of training with some of the best and First Generation JKD instructors from around the world.

JKDF offers programs for women as well as kids.  With increased attacks on women, instruction includes effective techniques to decrease one's odds of an encounter and increase one's chances of survival.  With the pressures kids have these days they need a positive and safe environment to mature and grow. We provide that environment. Through our classes at Jeet Kune Do Federation, your child's concentration, coordination and fitness level will also increase. The skills they learn will help them enter society with more confidence and enthusiasm.

Self-Defense Training

This program consists of efficient and practical solutions for many threatening situations that can SAVE YOUR LIFE ! Learn how to break holds, defend against weapons - including, but not limited to, guns and knives - attacks from individuals with greater size and strength, and from multiple assailants.  By using repetitive motion, you can learn how to react with instinct.

Jeet Kune Do

This philosophy, literally translated "the way of the intercepting fist", developed by Bruce Lee and James Yimm Lee (no relation), is a non-classical, non-traditional, combat modified American martial art and is a culmination of various martial arts, and gets its roots from: Chinese Gung Fu, Western Boxing, and Fencing.

Each martial arts style is an attempt to protect oneself from an act of aggression.  Each classical or traditional style, also, is limited by its approach to actual combat.  There are three phases of learning JKD: 1) Sharpening of the tools, where you learn the techniques and the drills;  2) Utilization of the drills, where you learn to use the techniques in actual combat, and 3) Dissolving of the tools, when you have combinations and techniques down so well, they become instinct.  There must be no preconceived ideas about a fight, you should just react.

Bushido Kempo

Bushido Kempo, literally translated "the way of the warrior" and "hard fist art" respectively. This martial arts system is based upon the Okinawan fighting arts.  Bushido Kempo is a martial art encompassing many facets and techniques of karate, ju-jitsu, aiki-jitsu, and bojutsu.  This art is based upon the same principles of Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do, but has its roots in the Japanese arts.  This art has an emphasis on street combat and self-defense, and is devoid of sports aspects and aesthetics.

Aiki-Jitsu

The original art of Aiki-Jitsu, having roots as far back as Feudal Japan, provides a variety of tactics and movements that flow into throws or joint-locks.  This effective art seeks to control an attacker's center of gravity, thus making Aiki-Jitsu a necessary foundation or compliment to one's own martial arts path.  Aiki-Jitsu is for men, women, and children of all ages.  JKDF incorporates Aiki-Jitsu as part of its system of self-defense.

Weapons and Anti-Terrorism

Learn a variety of weapons for self-defense including, but not limited to: knife, Kali/Arnis weapons, Bo staff, Jo, and defense against handguns.  Anti-Terrorism also provides a method of defense against close quarter threats from terrorists and provides an effective, direct, and efficient approach to disabling your opposition.
